A vacancy has arisen for a full time experienced Biomedical Scientist (band 5/6 equivalent) in our Blood Transfusion Department based at the North Middlesex University Hospital.

The role will involve undertaking haematological and blood transfusion investigations, providing a cross-site, 24/7 service. The post holder will an experienced Biomedical Scientist who works as part of a team undertaking routine pre-transfusion testing and specialist investigations in order to provide safe and compatible blood components and products for patients who require transfusion or for antenatal monitoring.  The tests are carried out on blood samples unsupervised and in accordance with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and local standard operating procedures.  Work will be undertaken with much autonomy but under the overall responsibility of the laboratory manager.

The successful candidate should hold an IBMS-accredited Biological Sciences degree or equivalent qualification and have a current registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC), with a specialist diploma or equivalent experience.
