The Halo building has helped one group of people even before the labs started operating.
HSL Medical Director, Professor Michael Patton, led the UK team that discovered the gene responsible for Noonan Syndrome. It’s an inherited disorder which causes congenital heart disease, short stature and in some cases, learning difficulties. Professor Patton has supported the Noonan Syndrome Association since it was first established. In late January, he was pleased to be able to offer the patient group’s trustees use of the Halo to meet and plan their annual meeting. Meeting at the Halo made it much easier for people travelling from all over the country to take part.
