We have an opportunity for a full time Associate Practitioner in our Virology Department in Central London.

The successful applicant will be required to participate in all daily aspects, under supervision, of manual, semi-automated and fully automated laboratory investigations using a variety of analytical techniques of diagnostic laboratory work. You will adhere to standard operating procedures and participate in their regular review and update, to provide written and verbal test results under direct supervision for all service users. Accuracy and attention to detail are absolute requirements and successful applicants will be able to investigate and attempt to resolve laboratory problems and errors in a timely manner.

You will be a familiar and confident user of computer and telephone systems, and be able to deal with and communicate messages accurately and in a timely fashion.  Theoretical and practical knowledge of pathology is desirable.

As the laboratory is run as a 7 days a week service, there will be a requirement for the successful applicant to participate in department rota’s including early, late and weekend cover.
