An opportunity has arisen for a Lead Biomedical Scientist position in the Department of Clinical Parasitology in Central London.
The successful candidate must be HCPC registered as either Clinical Scientist or Biomedical Scientist.
Reporting directly to the Scientific Lead, the Lead Biomedical Scientist is responsible for the management of the microscopy section of the Department of Clinical Parasitology. Candidates will require extensive experience of stool and blood microscopy for the diagnosis of parasitic infections and the ability to manage staff to ensure routine service delivery.
The working hours for the post will be 9am to 5:30pm five days a week, however you must be willing to show more flexibility around these hours as service delivery requires.
The Lead Biomedical Scientist must use a combination of knowledge and skills to ensure that the appropriate testing is performed safely, accurately and in a timely manner on each sample received.
The laboratory is situated in central London, has full UKAS accreditation and offers a pleasant working environment with excellent staff facilities.
The Department services requests from all General practitioners, PHE and Medical laboratories in the NHS and private sector. The Department has an international reputation and provides a parasitology service to Clinicians and Laboratories worldwide..
