Privacy Policy for Conferences

This privacy notice is for participants for any forthcoming conferences run by The Doctors Laboratory Group (TDL) and explains how TDL will only ever collect and process the personal information you provide us with when you attend.

This policy describes how and why we process your personal data and how it is used.

Collection of Information

Information you provide to us

We collect information you directly provide to us. For example, register for an event or a competition; or when you fill out a form, we collect the information you provide. The type of information we may collect include your

  • Job title and area of discipline
  • Email address
  • Contact number
  • Geographical Region

Use of Information

How we will use your information

We will use the information you provide to us for various purposes, including:

  • To provide and deliver the service and products you request and to send you related information, including confirmation of entry to our services;
  • To provide, maintain and improve our services;
  • To send you updates, support and job vacancies;
  • To respond to your questions, comments, and requests.

By accessing and using this service, you agree to the collection and processing of your information.

How we will store your information

Information provided by you will be stored at will be held in a database in order to process your attendance. We may also use this information to inform you about relevant future events and services but will not kept no longer than necessary in accordance with our retention policy.

Keeping Your Information Up-to Date

If you believe that any information we have collected about you is inaccurate, not up-to-date, incomplete, irrelevant or misleading, please contact us at dataprotection@tdlpathology.com and this this will be completed as soon as possible.

Sharing of Information

We will not share your information to third parties. However when you register for certain events, we do ask for your consent to share your email address with exhibitors who may wish to contact your regarding special promotions. Upon registering you will have the ability to opt out of such communications. You will have the opportunity to “opt-out” by following the unsubscribe instructions provided in any correspondence you receive from us.

Promotional Communication

We may occasionally send you information that will be relevant to our conferences, events and networking forums. We may also send out relevant future job opportunities

If you decide you no longer wish to receive communication from us, you can opt-out by following the unsubscribe instructions provided in any email you receive or contact us via the details listed below.

Applying for a role

As part of a job application or enquiry which may be advertised via newsletters or communication you will receive, you will provide us with your CV. This will include some personal information. We will use this information internally consider you for employment. Please note that we will keep your information for future consideration unless you tell us not to do so.

Your Rights

The rights of individuals

Individuals have the following rights in relation their personal data when TDL acts as data controller:

Request access to the personal data (commonly known as a “data subject access request”). This enables the individual to receive a copy of the personal data TDL holds about the individual and to check that TDL is lawfully processing it.

Request correction of the personal data that TDL holds. This enables the individual to have any incomplete or inaccurate data TDL holds about the individual corrected, under certain circumstances

Request erasure of personal data. This enables the individual to ask TDL to delete or remove personal data where there is no good reason for TDL continuing to process it. TDL also has the right to ask TDL to delete or remove the individual’s personal data where the individual has successfully exercised the right to object to processing (see below), where TDL has processed the personal data unlawfully or where TDL is required to erase the personal data to comply with local law.

Object to processing of personal data. Under certain circumstances, including to the use of the personal data for direct marketing.

Request restriction of processing of the personal data. This enables an individual to ask TDL to suspend the processing of the personal data under certain circumstances.

Request the transfer of the personal data to the individual or to a third party. Note that this right only applies to automated information which the individual initially provided consent for TDL to use or where TDL used the information to perform a contract with the individual.

Withdraw consent at any time. Where TDL is relying on consent to process the personal data. If consent is withdrawn TDL may not be able to provide certain services to the individual. TDL will advise the individual if this is the case at the time consent is withdrawn.
